Jumanji 4: Will There Be Any Sequel For Famous Franchise?

Jumanji 4 is not officially green yet, but all signs indicate that Sony Pictures wants to retain this series.

Robin Williams began the original Jumanji, directed by Joe Johnston in 1995, as the unfortunate Alan Parrish, who finds himself drawn in a terrifying world of jungles after a bad roll. Jake Kasdan’s Jumanji: Welcome to the forest, and this concept was revamped by transforming Jumanji into a video game with four adolescents stuck in it and bodies of avatars, each with unique abilities. In Jumanji: The Next Step, Dwayne Johnson’s core cast, Karen Gillan, Kevin Hart, and Jack Black, return as the avatars alongside Awkwafina as the Ming Fleetfoot new character.

Release Date:

Between the releases of Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle and Jumanji: The Next Level, there was a quick two-year turnaround time, and two films were released in mid-December 2017 and 2019, respectively.

If Sony gives Jumanji 4 the same priority, then in December 2024, we could see it in theatres. This schedule may be influenced by the cast’s availability-in particular Dwayne Johnson, whose DC Black Adam has already been released in December 2024.

Cast Details:

For the next couple of years, Johnson will be busy with Black Adam, but it is extremely unlikely that Sony will cut him out of Jumanji 4’s cast. Johnson is one of the rarest Hollywood stars that is a sure box office drawing all over the world, not to mention a core part of the films ‘ cast. Similarly, it would be very shocking if the other main characters in the first film–Karen Gillan, Jack Black, and Kevin Hart–were missing from Jumanji 4.

The cast of teenagers can also be expected: Madison Iseman as Bethany, Alex Wolff as Spencer, Morgan Turner as Martha, and Ser’Darius Blain as the Fridge. Nick Jonas’s McDonough Seaplane had a lesser role in the sequel, but he still was able to go back for Jumanji 4, as could Awkwafina’s new character, Ming Fleetfoot. We can also expect a new villain and perhaps new playable characters to be introduced.

Plot Details:

In the mid-credit scene of Jumanji: The Next Level has a clear set up for a sequel, as the mother of Spencer (Marin Hinkle) is pulled into the game by mistake, and some of the jungle’s animals are brought into the real world.

This last segment is especially interesting since it is likely that animals have fled the game as well, including avatars. It would be interesting to meet the avatars with their personalities, after two films of different characters who inhabit the bodies of Jumanji’s protagonists. However, that would mean missing the endlessly entertaining image of Jack Black of Bethany.
