Fast & Furious 9 Is Heading Towards Outer Space

There have been lots of rumors for some time that the Fast and Furious 9 movie will have scenes in space and it seems that they have officially confirmed it.

Ever since the Fast and Furious franchise morphed from an underground car racing saga to an action franchise with increasingly impossible scenes, it was inevitable that fans and audience would think that one day Dominic Toretto Vin Diesel would arrive in outer space. One of the stars of the franchise, Michelle Rodriguez, has confirmed that the movie Fast and Furious 9 will have scenes outside the Earth.

Here’s what actress Michelle Rodriguez had to say, responding to rumors sparked by her co-star Ludacris a few months ago:

Oh, no way. How did they find out about that Look what happens? People start talking backstage, man. When a movie doesn’t come out, and you forget about it, things are discovered. Nobody was supposed to know that from Fast and Furious 9. Oh well, no, I’m not. I am not lucky enough to get to space. But we got a writer, and we showed a lot of love, I think, in this case. Thanks to Justin Lin. We were able to find a little more attention and love for the girls in the movie. So I am very hopeful that that will be reflected in the final product.

We should have seen Vin Diesel by now directly challenging the limits of science beyond Earth’s atmosphere. But unfortunately, Fast and Furious 9 was delayed for a whole year due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Originally scheduled for May 22, 2024, the film will now hit theatres on April 2, 2024.

But there is also more good news as the character of Han ( Sung Kang ) will return to the saga. So Fast and Furious 9 will be one of the most exciting films of the franchise in recent years since the ground of seeing Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) in outer space taking down the villains on duty will be fulfilled.
