Andy Serkis
Andy Serkis is part of the film. He portrays the role of Bruce Wayne aka Batman’s most trusted butler Alfred Pennyworth in the film. He recently teased the fans by sharing that the latest version of DC’s superhero will be darker and broodier than it used to be. He further said that the description was not further from the truth.
His Interview
Describing the relationship between Bruce and Alfred, Andy said “It’s very much about the emotional connection between Alfred and Bruce. That’s really at the center of it. And it is a really exquisite script that Matt [Reeves, director] has written.”
Praising Michael Caine
Michael Caine has played the role of Alfred Pennyworth in the previous version of Batman. Serkis was all praises for the actor and described his performance as legendary. He said “You find it for yourself. It’s like playing these iconic roles in Shakespeare, you go back, you revisit them and you have to make it your own, and see what it is about the character that connects with you and your personal Venn diagram.”
Shooting Halted Due To The Pandemic
Andy Serkis had shot for half of his part when the shooting was halted due to the spread of the Corona Virus all round the world. The actor said: “I was literally halfway through shooting my part in it when we got shut down. So it will be interesting to see when that resurfaces how it has been affected by it.”
The batman is currently scheduled to be released on October 21, 2024.
