Venom 2: Sony Quietly Shades Over Those ‘Spider-Man’ Cameo Rumors

Sony Pictures will not publicly confirm or deny the Marvel Cinematic Universe Spider-Man (Tom Holland) cameo news of Venom 2. While Sony now shares Spider-Man with Marvel Studios, who is set to become the star of another solo film and team-up film over the coming years, the studio does not allow their other Marvel characters to sit in the background.

In 2018 Sony launched a series of Spidey-adjacent movies with Ruben Fleischer’s Venom, featuring Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock. The film is the first one to feature Jared Leto’s Morbius and Venom 2 in Sony’s Universe of Marvel Characters (SUMC) later this year.

While Venom’s reviews among the critics were mixed-to-negative, the world box office found an audience of 856.1 million dollars for casual moviegoers. As a consequence, Sony greenlit Venom 2, with Hardy on his way back and Andy Serkis on his way to Fleischer.

While Venom 2 does not yet have an official release date, it is commonly believed that the movie will be spotted on Sony’s Oct. 2, and the Sequel to Marvel is currently in production. Recently, a new report from Venom 2, reported that Holland’s Spider-Man would have a cameo on the movie, and now Sony responded.

According to the initial speculation, Venom 2 negotiations with Holland were still in the early stages, and it is unlikely to have changed a great deal since the story was initially reported on holidays-so nothing has been confirmed yet. Even if Holland and Sony agree, the studio will possibly not reveal the camera but will keep it fun to moviegoers while they watch the movie.

Sony will also not officially confirm the cameo until releases of Venom 2 due to what would have happened with the first movie. According to reports surfacing during the renegotiation of Sony and Marvel, Holland filmed a Spider-Man who came to Venom, but Marvel cut Sony. Spidey’s latest speculation in Venom 2 was part of the new contract in the studios, but that was not confirmed.

Those who want to see the convergence of these characters will be eager for a Spiderman in Venom 2. Both Hardy’s Eddie Brock and Holland’s Peter Parker are friends and heroes of very various kinds so that they can engage with something incredibly fun. The fans may have to wait before Spider-Man finally exits the MCU–which is currently being planned by Kevin Feige from Marvel Studios–until Spidey and Venom officially join forces. But Venom 2 with a Spider-Man could set the stage for the SUMC’s future in a significant way.
