The new mutants was delayed due to a global pandemic, which closed theatres worldwide.
In a press release, Disney announced that Black Widow and Mulan and would get new release dates, July 24 and November respectively, July 24 and November 6, but did not mention New Mutants at the time.
Fans began to speculate that The New Mutant could air as Disney Plus or Hulu Exclusive, as Disney owns streaming services and after the acquisition of 21st Century Fox, New Mutant is now a Disney title. Disney has moved some of the Theatrical releases, like Artemis Fall and Hamilton, now only to premiere exclusively at Disney.
Described as an original horror thriller set in a separate hospital where a group of young mutants is kept to supervise psychiatry, “New Mutants is the movie fans that the fans have waited years to watch.
Expected release date:
Fox planned to develop the film for the first time in 2015, with the production of the project in 2016. The Filming ended in 2017 September, and then the trouble began. In 2018 January, Fox withdrew its release date of February 2019, allowing Deadpool 2 to run without competition from another Fox Marvel movie. Months later, The New Mutants also faced similar crises and were delayed to make sure that Dark Phoenix, (another X-Men movie), had no competition.

Depending on what happens from time to time, The New Mutants may be one of the first movies to hit theatres and, in a surprising turn of events, become one of 2024’s biggest summer movies Power. The fans will get to see The New Mutants if Disney feels that the theatres will work again. Right now, studios are trying to figure out when is the best time to release their movies, as states across the country are starting to close or further restrict the restrictions. The Warner Bros. and Christopher Nolan theory is seen largely as a litmus test for studios.
