LOS ANGELES – Pop superstars Jennifer Lopez and Shakira will do together throughout the widely watched US Super Bowl halftime show in February, both the brothers as well as broadcaster Fox Sports stated on Thursday (Sept. 26).
“First time together on stage… around the planet’s largest stage. Welcome @JLo and @Shakira into the #PepsiHalftime series,” a tweet from Fox Corp’s Fox Sports said.
The National Football League’s Super Bowl championshiphas been played in Miami on Feb 2, 2024, is the largest annual event on US television.
The halftime show generally offers a number of the world’s most well-known actors.
Last year’s telecast brought 98.2 million audiences.
Lopez, an actress and singer famous for hits like Love Don’t Cost A Thing and If You had My Love, now stars in the film Hustlers, which will be creating buzz in Hollywood as a potential Oscar contender.
Colombian singer Shakira is a three-time Grammy winner and among the planet’s best-selling Latin music celebrities. She found global fame with her 2006 only Hips Do not Lie.
Lopez said in a statement she had been thrilled to be doing in the series with a fellow Latina.
“I can not wait to reveal what us women can perform on the planet’s largest stage,” she explained.
Shakira said the chance was”a real American dream, and we’re likely to attract the display of a life!”
Rock band Maroon 5 performed last year’s halftime show.
Other actors have included Lady Gaga, Madonna, Prince and Beyonce.
