Black Panther 2 was ready to carry on the incredible legacy left by the first film that made history before the tragic news broke that Chadwick Boseman had died at the age of 43.
A movie sequel is the least of anyone’s worries right now, so it’s not surprising that Marvel and Disney have not commented on what’s going to show up to Black Panther 2 and we are sure. The official word will have to wait. Black Panther 2 will probably still be around in some form, but there are no easy answers.
1. Namor The Sub-Mariner
Perhaps the most popular choice for the villain is Namor the Sub-Mariner, one of Marvel’s two oldest superheroes and the King of Atlantis. Namor’s MCU debut was in Avengers: Endgame during a scene with Okoye (Danai Gurira) and Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), but there’s no firm confirmation that he will make his big debut in Black Panther 2. Huh?
2. Kraven The Hunter
Black Panther director Ryan Coogler almost included Craven the Hunter in the first film, but the rest of the rights to the character with Sony. If Marvel doesn’t intend to use Craven in their third Spider-Man movie, as a highly skilled and capable hunter, Craven will fit perfectly into the world of Black Panther and match T’Challa well. Will eat
3. M’Baku
In Marvel Comics, the a.k.a. M’Baku is one of Black Panther’s first and greatest opponents. The notorious leader of the Jabari tribe wears the anklets of a white gorilla and possesses a supernatural power. The character clashes with both the Black Panther and the Avengers in his lifelong quest to take the throne of Wakanda, as he feels he will be a stronger and more capable leader than T’Challa.
4. Doctor Doom
Atlantis isn’t the only nation in Marvel Comics that Wakanda may conflict with Black Panther 2. There’s also Latvia, ruled by Doctor Doom, one of the most notorious characters in the entire Marvel Universe.
The expected release date before the death of Chadwick Boseman:
There wasn’t much information available about the sequel prior to Bosman’s death. Black Panther 2 wasn’t scheduled for release until 2024, and filming has yet to begin.
Before the shocking news of Bosman’s passing, the sequel appeared to reunite a family group. Director Ryan Coogler, who also wrote the script for the first film, was returning.
