Director of Patty Jenkins, who has helmed both Wonder Woman and Wonder Woman 1984, has revealed that an idea for the third part of the Gal Gadot-fronted franchise is already in place. Apart from the third movie of the franchise, an Amazon-based spin-off is also on the cards. The artist Patty Jenkins directed in the year of 2017’s DC superhero film Wonder Woman, the origin story of the title character and how she becomes a true warrior from a sheltered, naive Amazonian princess.

Patty Jenkins isn’t the only the filmmaker who is creating a Wonder Woman spin-off for a popular DCEU property at Warner Bros. Aquaman’s James Wan is also working on The Trench, which will investigate deeper into the horrifying measurements of the ocean where the sea monsters King Orm banded with during the third act dwell.
The filmmaker best known for his horror films from The Conjuring everything will favor into his horror roots for the creature feature set in Aquaman’s vast world. Coming up first is Wonder Woman 1984, focusing on Diana Prince in the Reagan Age as she meets Kristen Wiig’s Cheetah, Pedro Pascal’s Maxwell Lord, and somehow meets with Chris Pine’s Steve Trevor. Wonder Woman 1984 is all set to hit the theaters on August 14.
