A little over a month ago, the news was made public: Netflix decided to expand a little more the universe starring Henry Cavill by giving the green light to a prequel to The Witcher. Since then, we had known little else, but a rumor has arrived about who could be the protagonist of ‘Blood Origin.’ And yes, it hits everything.
Jason Momoa As The First Warlock?
It is said that Jason Momoa known for his role in the beginnings of Game of Thrones and for Aquaman, is in talks to sign as the protagonist of this new project of the streaming platform that has us excited. Why? Because ‘Blood Origin’ will be a miniseries of only six full episodes, it will take us 1,200 years before the world of ‘The Witcher’ to tell the first Warlock story. Oh, and by how we will delve into the elven world, its culture, before its fall.
Some tabloids have reported that the actor would be immersed in the negotiations of this agreement that, if it ends well, will present Momoa as the first sorcerer on the Continent. Of course, we will have to wait for confirmation for the moment, then, we insist, it is a rumor. Be that as it may, we love this possibility.
The Showrunner’s Take?
Declan de Barra, who was already present in the writer’s room of the first season of ‘The Witcher,’ will act as showrunner of ‘Blood Origin.’ Joining him will be the head of ‘The Witcher’ Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, as executive producer of this enigmatic project that we will continue to report on.
It certainly sounds very appetizing. Who will make up the cast? Of course, that new first Warlock faces the high expectations that Cavill has achieved with his character … We will be watching for the excellent news. We will continue to inform you about this project with no release date yet but, we can confirm that filming will occur in the United Kingdom.
