Cast and Number Of Episodes In The Good Lord Bird
It would consist of eight episodes to be aired on Showtime. Talking about the cast, it would include;
- child actor Joshua Johnson Lionel as the main protagonist Onion,
- Daveed Diggs as reformer Frederick Douglass along with many others.
Plot Of The Good Lord Bird
The story is based on a former slave boy named Onion who accidentally joins the abolitionist crew of John Brown because he freed him from the clutches of slavery. However, circumstances force him to live as a girl and the entire story is shown through his side.
Though being an imaginary character created by James McBride, the remaining characters and events are true to their facts taken from historic events. The book includes John’s sense of wittiness and comic timing giving a taste of satirical elements by not hurting the sentiments of readers.
Those of who have already read the novel would have an idea as to what would be shown in the series but it would be surely a good one to watch it being turned into a show as it will contain more elements, more knowledge, more wittiness as if bringing history back to life.
It would be really interesting to watch the fictional drama series. We will keep you updated with its release date and other news.
