The great thing about Marvel is that they have varieties of characters which we already notice in comics. There are some of them who are still not introduced in MCU. But now there is a character who is going to make his debut with his solo film, and that is Shang-Chi. Shang Chi is an Asian character, and in the movie, he is playing by actor Simu Liu.
The great thing about this upcoming film Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings is it will feature the 98% Asian cast that makes interesting the movie very much. The film is also now delayed, and fans want to know about the new updates. So keep reading to know all details:
Production Status
Filming for the Shang Chi film started from February 2024, but Marvel soon had to stop it because of coronavirus pandemic. Marvel is suffering a lot due to the outbreak because filming on many films of phase 4 are delayed that resulting in the changes in release schedules.
But we have good news for all of you as the filming will begin very soon. Deadline revealed that the shooting would restart from the end of July 2024 in Fox Studios. So we are expecting that the production will again start successfully.
Release Date
Due to the delay in production, Marvel earlier postponed the release of Shang Chi. First, the MCU phase 4 film was set to land in the theaters on Feb. 12, 2024, but then Marvel decided to release it on 7 May 2024.
Films like Black Widow, Doctor Strange 2, Thor Love And Thunder, etc are also delayed.
Cast Details
The complete cast details is still not revealed by Marvel. For now only these stars are confirmed to feature in the Asian MCU film:
- Simu Liu as Shang-Chi.
- Tony Leung as Mandarin, which is not from the Iron man
- Rosalind Chao in an undisclosed role
- Awkwafina
- Ronny Chieng
Plot Details
Marvel did not reveal how much the film will be different from the comics. But we will reportedly see Shang Chi’s backstory as to how he become the superhero. From the comics, we know he is the son of Fu Manchu who later decided to not follow his father’s steps. He received the title of Master of Kung Fu and he also has a history with the Avengers
