Man From Toronto: Woody Harrelson Joins Kevin Hart’s New Film After Jason Statham’s Exit

According to sources, Woody Harrelson to replace Jason Statham in Sony’s “The Man From Toronto,” after Jason Statham Back out of the movie. Woody Harrelson will be joining Kevin Hart in the action-comedy movie.

Reason Why Jason Statham Left The Show

Jason Statham was in discussion to star opposite Kevin Hart in the movie, but abruptly backed out a week ago over creative disagreements, and Sony struggled to find a new actor. Sony’s working with Woody Harrelson makes sense, due to the actor’s long-standing connection with the studio. Woody Harrelson has work in Sony’s “Zombieland” series, with the sequel releasing last October, but also recently finished shooting his role as the villain Carnage in “Venom 2” opposite Tom Hardy.

Plot Of The Man From Toronto

The movie “The Man From Toronto” revolves around a case of mistaken identity after the world’s most dangerous assassin, known as the ‘Man from Toronto,’ and an innocent stranger, which will be acted by Kevin Hart. Woody Harrelson and Kevin Hart will run into one other at an Airbnb. Chaos soon follows in the life of Kevin Hart as the assassin’s world comes crashing down on him.

Director Of The Movie

Patrick Hughes, who directed “The Hitman’s Bodyguard,” is on board to helm the movie. “The Hitman’s Bodyguard,” is a 2017 action-comedy movie that star Ryan Reynolds-Samuel L. Jackson. The script of the movie is written by Robbie Fox from a story by Fox and Jason Blumenthal. Jason Blumenthal is producing along with Steve Tisch and Todd Black, his associates at Escape Artists. The Man From Toronto is set to release in November 2024.

Woody Harrelson is getting off a busy 2019 after he featured in “Zombieland 2,” the Roland Emmerich World War II pic “Midway,” and the Netflix film “The Highwaymen.” In 2024 also he looks to be just as full as 2019, with Sony’s “Venom” sequel set to release in October, the Netflix action movie “Kate” and Ruben Ostlund’s movie “Triangle of Sadness.”
