Hotel Transylvania 4: Production Officially Announced

Selena Gomez will now also be a producer of the film

It had previously been confirmed by Sony that Hotel Transylvania 4 would be hitting theatres in 2024. However, we now know that Genndy Tartakovsky who had been in charge of directing the first three installments, will not return to the director’s chair for this fourth film. And that the production team now has new members, including Selena Gomez.

Variety exclusively reported that Selena Gomez, who originally voiced the character of Meave, will now also serve as executive producer along with Michelle Murdocca and Genndy Tartakovsky. They stopped being a director to become the person in charge of writing the history of the film—fourth installment. Replacing Tartakovsky, Hotel Transylvania 4 will be directed by Jennifer Kluska and Derek Drymon, who have experience directing animation productions for Nickelodeon, Disney, and DC.

As reported by the media, the film is also expected to hit theatres in the United States on August 6, 2024, but the possibility that the release date will be modified due to the current situation is ruled out.

The plot of Hotel Transylvania 4 is still unknown, for this fourth installment of the franchise

Regarding the casting of this 4th part, we take the same ones, and we start again! Adam Sandler will therefore return to the skin of Count Dracula while Andy Samberg will play Johnny. Hotel Transylvania 4 will also sign the returns of regulars of the saga such as Kevin James as Frankenstein monster, David Spade as Invisible Man, and Steve Buscemi as Werewolf.

However, this 4th episode will not be directed by Tartakovsky. Indeed, the latter will give way to Jennifer Kluska and Derek Drymon. For the anecdote, Kluska had already worked on Hotel Transylvania 2 and 3. However, Tartakovsky does not completely let down his baby since he remains a screenwriter and executive producer of this part n ° 4 of the saga. This change of director is probably explained by the fact that Tartakovsky is currently busy directing two feature films for Sony Pictures.
