The fantasy film “His Dark Materials”, a television series produced by Bad Wolf and New Line Productions, for BBC One and HBO, an adaptation of the novel of the same name by Philip Pullman, was released in 2019. The first A successful season of 8 episodes has been updated for a second season pending another step forward.
Release date:
After gaining fame from the first season, the two production companies want to develop the second season as soon as possible. Lin-Manuel Miranda also posted a video on Twitter about the filming of the second season, even before the premiere of the first episode of the first season. Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the project has stalled, but we can still expect it to arrive on television in late 2024 or early 2024.
Who are the cast members?
As the second season is set to adapt to the second book in the trilogy, it is safe to assume that the cast of the first season will resume their respective roles. the first season featured Dafne Keen as Lyra Belacqua, Clarke Peters as The Master, James Cosmo as Farder Coram, Ariyon Bakare as Lord Boreal, James McAvoy, Ruth Wilson as Marisa Coulter, Lord Asriel and Lin- Manuel Miranda as Lee Scoresby. Along with that, we will see Andrew Scott in the role of Colonel John Parry in the new chapter of the epic.
Expected plotline:
His Dark Materials are placed in a multiverse, with the action moving from one world to another. This action-packed drama comes from an alternative universe where all humans have animal companions called demons. The first season follows the life of a girl named Lyra, an orphan who lives with scholars at Jordan College.
Since the first season was based on Pullman’s first novel in the trilogy, Northern Lights (The Golden Compass), we can say that the original material of the second season may be the second novel in the series, The Subtle Knife (1997).
Is there any trailer?
As filming for season 2 is pending, there is no official trailer for season 2. It also depends on the release schedule already in dispute on the screens.
