The first series was inspired by Shirley Jackson’s 1959 gothic novel of the same name, and it became one of the strongest new horror series when it hit Netflix in 2018. Netflix has confirmed that The Howling of Bali Manor will be released on October 9, 2024. The streaming giant has confirmed that Haunting of Bly Manor will hit the streaming service on October 9, just in time for Halloween.
Haunting of Bly Manor was one of the few television shows that survived the epidemic caused by filming after its completion before the lockout. The production of Haunting Of Bly Manor was halted due to the global coronavirus pandemic but writer-director Mike Flanagan has repeatedly emphasized that despite the inevitable issues raised by Covid-19.
Haunting Of Bly Manor: Plotline
A young caretaker is said to appear at the family home after caring for two children, hired by a man to care for his niece and nephew. When he arrives at the Bailey Estate, the management begins to see the spirits and ghosts haunting the premises. Bailey Manor is described as the ghost of the plot, “a gothic romance ghost story based on the stories of Henry James”, by the creators.
The Haunting of Bly Manor is loosely based on the 1898 horror novel The Turn of the Screw by Henry James. The series is produced by Mike Flanagan, who also produced The Hunting of the Hill House. While many of the creative team and cast of Hill House are returning for Haunting of Bly Manor, the stories of the two series will not be interconnected.
