Guardians Of The Galaxy: Michael Rooker Can Return To MCU But Not For Playing Yondu

Michael Rooker As Yondu In Guardians Of The Galaxy

Michael Rooker has announced that Yondu is open for an MCU return, provided he does not play his original character in the “Guardians of the Galaxy” film. Rooker as the Ravager appeared both in the first Guardians movie and the Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2.

Yondu was introduced to Peter Quill / Star-Lord from Earth as a man with complicated morals. But Yondu finally revealed that by kidnapping him, it saved Peter’s life because Quill’s wife, Ego, would otherwise have killed him. As the edge of the World Guardians Vol. 2, Yondu dies so that Peter can live, and Quill realized that Yondu was the only father figure he had.

Yondu’s Death

Yondu’s death is one of the most emotive moments of the series, while after his passing, the Ravagers greet the hero. Director James Gunn recently joked the greetings of Ravager as a coronavirus-friendly greeting. Gunn was also evident that Yondu would stay dead in the MCU. He has been captured several times, stating that bringing him back to life will take the stakes away. Nevertheless, Gunn said that Yondu might come back to a situation of flashback or prequel, thinking something else “would annul the sacrifice of Yondu.”

Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3

While ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’ is still years away, it makes sense for people to be excited. The first two films were marked as MCU departures. Several of the characters have appeared at Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, which showed fans how fun they could be. Vol. 3 will also discuss Gamora’s death today, although there is still a past edition. Most of all, the Guardians will also feature in Thor: Love and Thunder, but even that film will not be released until 2024.

The fans of Marvel are undoubtedly pleased to hear Michael Rooker talk as he does about the return of Yondu. It’s nice that the actor agrees with Gunn on the importance and emotional weight of Yondu’s death scene. It is fascinating that he is open to appearing entirely as another character. Nonetheless, it seems more likely he will come back as Yondu in a flashback, maybe even in the next “Guardians of the Galaxy” film.
