Two big films from 2024 have new releases due to the pandemic COVID-19.
Top Gun: Maverick’s New Release Date
Tom Cruise’s Top Gun: Maverick, the sequel to the 1986 hit movie, is now expected to release on 23 Dec.
Top Gun: Maverick joins a long list of films with late launches, despite the global effects of the present health crisis, including Wonder Woman sequel and Lin-Manuel Miranda’s In the Heights.
A Quiet Place 2 New Release Date
Another sequel, John Krasinski’s follow-up to A Quiet Place, a 2018 horror sensation, will now debut on 4 Sept. over the weekend of Labour Day following the announcement of its original release.
A Quiet Place Part II premiered in U.S. theatres on 18 Mar. And the film had its premiere in New York a week before the delay.
Krasinsky said in a comment that, One of the things he’s most proud of to all of our fans from A Quiet Place is that people said the film is one that you have to watch together. Well, despite the ever-changing circumstances of what is happening to us in the world, it is not the time to do so. As crazy as we’re all excited to see this film. He’ll wait to release the film until we can all see it together! So here’s the date of our community film!
Other Movies Which Were Postponed
Black Widow and Mulan all were also put back without confirmation of new release dates. No time to die is now coming to the theatres, as Warner Bros. also delayed the releases of Wonder Woman 1984 and Scoob.
Main cities worldwide started to enforce preventive measures by shutting down all non-essential businesses earlier this month to avoid the outbreak of COVID-19. Theatres ‘closed indefinitely announced films throughout the country, including the three largest theatre-chains.
