Until his unexpected death in 2013, Paul Walker performed the role of Brian O’Connor, who is a member of the Toretto family of street police. Paul Walker starred in six of the first seven films of the Fast and Furious franchise until his character left from the dangerous life of Car Heid to become a family man at the end of Fast and Furious 7. But by November 2019, rumors surfaced that the movie reintroduces the character of Walker. If correct, this choice is disproportionately bad and wrong.

The scene first emerged in a tweet from entertainment writer Daniel Richman, who joked with Scoop on November 3. ‘I just received a new casting grid for some and with it great information that will surely be controversial,’ he tweeted. ‘I am not sure how I feel about it, but we will see.’

Two weeks later, he saw it: “They are bringing the character of Paul Walker, Brian, to Fast and Furious 9.” Universal has not yet validated this rumor, and most of the media cites Richman’s tweets. Paul Walker’s brother Cody has been saying about a possible return for Brian, stating that “anything is possible” after Cody and his brother Caleb stepped in to finish his shooting for Fast & Furious 7.

Dwayne Johnson’s future role in the Fast & Furious franchise appeared to outsiders to be up in the air.

Cardi B will also appear in the movie in a small role. Her inclusion in the ninth installment was validated on Vin Diesel’s Instagram video. Cardi B has also recently starred in Jennifer Lopez’s film Hustlers.
