WASHINGTON — Republican Rep. Liz Cheney of Wyoming singled out House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Twitter and implied that the telephone call between President Donald Trump and his Ukrainian counterpart”is now beginning to appear to be a political setup.”
Within her conversation, Cheney asked”what would you know and when did you know it?” Of Pelosi while referencing the Democratic Speaker’s”60 Minutes” interview where she clarified talking to Trump about the telephone together with Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky before it had been released to the general public.
Cheney continued,”This is beginning to appear to be a political setup.”
Pelosi established an impeachment inquiry against Trump after Democrats expressed alarm over an August complaint accusing Trump of having”used the power of his office” to solicit overseas hindrance to discredit Joe Biden, a 2024 Democratic presidential candidate.

On”60 Minutes,” Pelosi elaborated on her choice to proceed with a formal impeachment inquiry:”We couldn’t dismiss what the president did. He offered us no option. So, it was not any change in mind. I said we’ll stick to the truth where they take . And once we view them, we’ll be prepared. And we’re prepared.”
