A California woman is in prison after she allegedly ran over and killed a man on during the wee hours of Christmas day.
22-year-old Sabrina Marie Gutierrez has been charged with murder after she reportedly ran over and murdered a man who police state shot her relative just moments ahead. Her relative was carried to a local hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening gunshot injuries.
Sgt. Garcia of the San Jose Police Department described the incident in a statement.
Officers came on the scene in reply to a silent burglar alarm at around 2:16 am on Wednesday in the 1200 block of E. Santa Clara St. in San Jose, California. Upon their arrival, a samaritan told them “about a man lying on the road who seemed to have been hit by a vehicle.”
“The dead male had gotten into a dispute with an adult male,” Garcia said. “The dead male shot the adult male with a gun and escaped the scene on foot.”
“A relative of the firing victim, who was at the scene in another vehicle, drove the male firing victim to a local hospital,” he continued.
Police state that’s when Gutierrez, who was in a separate car nearby, sought the shooter in her vehicle.
Garcia said that “Sabrina Marie Gutierrez drove her vehicle onto the track and hit the male shooting suspect as he was escaping.”
“The shooter was carried to a local hospital where he was declared deceased a short time later,” Garcia said. Officials state they discovered a loaded gun near him.
Police have not disclosed the names of the two men connected to the incident. The 22-year-old relation to the shooting victim has not been revealed.
With this incident, San Jose has 34 homicide cases this year.
