Tomb Raider 2: Is The Sequel Of 2018 Reboot Film Happening? Check All Details Here

Tomb Raider 2 is finally happening with some very interesting people involved in it.

Ben Whitley, responsible for cult British films like Kill List and High-Rise, takes over from Roar Uthagu as director. Amy Jump hired to write the script for the sequel, as Alicia Vikander liked Jump’s writing.

Tracking the 2018 reboot also got a release date early next year, but we have a feeling it’ll be delayed like so many movies.

Tomb Raider 2: Release date

Due to the current global situation, the film did not begin filming until June 2024. Although filming begins in July, things are starting to return to normal, the film is unlikely to be ready for March from 2024.

More than a year has passed between the filming of the first movie in March 2018 and its release. So a similar moment may point to its release in late 2024.

Tomb Raider 2 is scheduled for release on March 19, 2024.

Tomb Raider 2: Cast

Alicia Vikander will certainly return as Lara Croft, but it is not clear elsewhere who will return.

We can also expect a return from Kristin Scott Thomas as Ana Miller.

Dominic West’s as Lara’s father, Lord Richard Croft, is unlikely to return as he sacrificed herself to save her daughter. While villain Mathias Vogel (Walton Goggins) also died in the first film.

Perhaps Daniel Wu will return as Lu Ren, the captain of the ship that helped Lara find her father and escape Yamatai.

Tomb Raider 2: Expected Plotline

After Lara saves the world and stops the deadly virus escaping from the grave. She returns to London and accepts her place in the company of her father.

However, she soon discovers that Trinity, the group that wanted to release the virus, was directly related to Croft Holdings through Trinity’s parent company, Patna. Ana Miller, Lara’s father’s business partner has become the head of Patna. Lara reports that Ana was working with Vogel and Trinity throughout their plan.

The sequel continues Lara’s fight against Trinity but still has a chance to establish a new grave and mission for Lara, completely different from the original movie.
