The first season of Messiah was considered by some fans as controversial and some fans thought it was a great show. Fans want another season of the show to explore more about Al-Masih. Here’s everything we know about season 2 of the show so far:
Messiah Season 2 Release Date
Season 1 of the Messiah was released on Netflix on 1 January 2024. There is no official statement about the renewal of the show. The streaming service usually renewed the show after months of its release after analyzing the critics’ review and fan’s reaction.
If a second season of the show was to be confirmed, then based on the production schedule for the first season, season 2 of the show would be likely to release at some point in 2024.
Messiah Season 1
The central conceit of the first season was the case of Al-Masih, who also known by the name Payam Golshiri, a strange figure who alleges to be the second coming of Jesus Christ.
Unsurprisingly given the series’s modern-day setting of the show, there’s a decent deal of doubt about whether Al-Masih is all that he states he is and so CIA agent Eva Geller begins an investigation to discover if he is Christ or a conman, possibly even the representation of the Antichrist.
Throughout season 1 of the show we see Al-Masih miraculously survive a would-be-deadly plane accident and clearly resurrect his fellow passenger Aviram Dahan, and then witness one of his faithful disciples similarly escape death following a suicide bombing.
The first season of the show did not quite provide any certain information as to the exact nature of Al Masih and it is still just as possible that he is good as he is evil but we do understand for sure that he is in the hold of supernatural powers.
We also acknowledge that he has some sort of link with Oscar Wallace, a cyber-terrorist and Williams College professor and that he has put great trust in a girl named Rebecca – who gives a message that ‘Al-Masih is the eye…the eye of the storm.’
Cast Of Season 2
If the show is renewed, then most of the main characters of the show are expected to return in season 2 of the show. These include Michelle Monaghan as Eva Geller, Mehdi Dehbi as Al-Masih, Tomer Sisley as Aviram Dahan, and John Ortiz as Felix Iguero.
