The promoted fourth installment of the futuristic series created by the Wachowski sisters hopes to resume filming next July in Berlin, but will not have a screen until April 2024.
What’s The Release Date
The promoted fourth installment of “The Matrix” will finally arrive almost 20 years after the end of the saga, as the Warner Bros. studios postponed its release due to the coronavirus pandemic, which was to take place next year, until April of 2024, the Efe news agency reported. The production of the science fiction tape has suffered the same fate like the entire film industry, which had to be stopped completely to mitigate the expansion of the Covid-19.
Although it is believed that filming will be able to resume next month in Berlin, the studios decided to postpone its release for almost a year, until 2024.
Other Updates
Launched between 1999 and 2003, “Matrix” was a revolutionary trilogy of films written and directed by the sisters Lana and Lilly Wachowski, starring Keanu Reeves, Laurence Fishburne, Carrie-Ann Moss, and Hugo Weaving.
In tune with the fashion of the “revivals” and the “remakes” that feed so much the cinema and series of this time, Lana set to work to create a continuation.
Already without her sister Lilly in the creative section, but with Reeves and Moss returning to starring roles, “The Matrix 4” – as its tentative title in English – will again generate expectations for its ideas and visual techniques. The announcement of the delay for “Matrix” comes with other postponements also of Warner Bros. films since yesterday the studio confirmed that “Tenet” and “Wonder Woman 1984” changed their releases until the end of July and October of this year respectively, at least in the huge American market.
In the case of Argentine cinemas, the arrival of these and other films will be tied to the development of the Preventive and Mandatory Social Isolation measures decreed by President Alberto Fernandez.
