HBO has declared the release date of “I Know This Much Is True” on April 27. The series is based on Wally Lamb’s book of the same name, the six-part short series actors Mark Ruffalo as the same twin brothers and reflect them by various stages of their experiences in the invented city of Three Rivers, Conn.
The series is directed, written, and managing produced by Derek Cianfrance with Ben Browning and Glen Basner for FilmNation Entertainment, Ruffalo for Willi Hill Productions, Anya Epstein, Gregg Fienberg, Lynette Howell Taylor, and Lamb.

“I Know This Much Is True”: Cast
Leo presents Thomas and Dominick’s mother; O’Donell presents a social worker; Panjabi performs Thomas’ afresh selected psychologist; Poots performs Dominick’s live-in lover; Hahn represents Dominick’s ex-wife, and Lewis performs a grad pupil occupied by Dominick.
The exciting show also features Rob Huebel (“Transparent”), John Procaccino (“Little Men”), Michael Greyeyes (“True Detective”), Philip Ettinger (“First Reformed”), and Bruce Greenwood (“Star Trek”).
The series is executive produced by Cianfrance with Ruffalo and FilmNation Entertainment.
According to a source, Lamb is the writer of six beloved stories: ‘I’ll Take You There,’ ‘The Hour I First Believed,’ ‘I Know This Much Is True,’ ‘We Are Water,’ ‘Wishin’ and Hopin’,’ and ‘She’s Come Undone.’ Oprah’s Book Club has starred both ‘I Know This Much Is True’ and ‘She’s Come Undone.’
