HBO Max has announced that a reunion of ‘Friends’ has been underway. The main cast members of Friends have signed up for the unscripted special. The actors validated the long-awaited news by each posting the same photo online with the caption writing as ‘It’s happening…’ Here’s everything we know about the reunion so far:
When Is The Special Episode Happening
There is no official announcement of the release date of the reunion. However, HBO Max is set to launch in May, so the episode would not be for at least another few months.
What Is Expected In The Friends Special Episode
It’s been broadly reported that Ellen DeGeneres will host the Friends special episode and rather than being a new episode of the series, it will feature interviews with the cast of the show and have them all together on screen for the first time since the series finished in 2004.
According to sources, each of the stars will get at least $2.5million (£1.92million) for the TV appearance.
The chief content officer at HBO Max, Kevin Reilly, said that “Guess you could call this the one where they all got back together. We are reuniting with David, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Matt, Lisa, and Matthew for an HBO Max special that will be processed alongside the entire Friends library.”
The special episode will be directed by Ben Winston, who will executive produce alongside Matt, Lisa, David, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, and Matthew.
The show will be filmed on the original Friends soundstage, Stage 24 on the Warner Bros. Studio lot in Burbank, California, where the majority of the original ten seasons of the show run was filmed.
Who Are Returning In The Special Episode
The main cast members of Friends are returning in the special episode. These include David Schwimmer, Matthew Perry, Matt LeBlanc, Lisa Kudrow, Courteney Cox, and Jennifer Aniston.
