Escape Room 2: Release Date
On February 25, 2019, much less than months after Escape Room’s theatrical release, Sony introduced that Escape Room 2 changed into at the way, with director Adam Robitaille, and to begin with filming the movie on April 17, 2024. A few months later, the studio brought the sequel to August 14, and a few months earlier, in February 2024, Sony again delayed Escape Room 2, this time to December 30, 2024.
However, the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic outbreak pushed that date back. It was later told that the film would be released on December 30, 2024. Instead, Sony has determined that the film will hit US theaters on January 1, 2024.
Escape Room 2: Plotline
Sony has so far revealed a unique description of Escape Room 2’s plot, choosing to keep the sequel’s plot and characters close. As noted above, the first Escape Room ended on an apparent sequel hook, going to New York City with Zoy and Ben to investigate the mysterious forces behind the game. It was clear that the game’s puzzle master didn’t end with them either, taking on a sequel to where the first movie ended.
So in the first movie, it was revealed that six players were selected because they were the only survivors of a plane crash and various incidents with a carbon monoxide oyster. However, as stated above, the first Escape Room ended with an apparent sequel, with Joey and Ben venturing to New York City to begin investigating the mysterious forces behind the game. It was perfectly clear that the game’s puzzle master wasn’t completely finished with them either, and one would assume that the sequel would come from where the first movie ended.
