A father in Alabama is booked for killing his infant son
An Alabama man was charged with the murder of his two-month-old son in July after an autopsy revealed that the boy had died from a blunt instrument head injury.
Investigators discovered that the infant was unresponsive
Jefferson County lawmakers answered a call about a child who was found unconscious on July 29 and found that Amari Ruffin was not breathing.
The boy was taken to Birmingham Children’s Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
Autopsy reports revealed that the boy had bruises on his body
Jamarius Ruffin said he was sleeping with his son when he woke up and found he wasn’t breathing. But the Jefferson County coroner found the cause of death and, on examination, found older wounds.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office received a death sentence in connection with his father’s arrest, and was taken into custody on Friday by the U.S. Gulf Coast Task Force Fugitive Regional Marshall, sources reported.
Ruffin is being held in Jefferson County Jail without bail.
