Taiki Waititi was “embarrassed” to play Adolf Hitler in ‘Jojo Rabbit’!!

Taiki Waititi has stated that he felt “ashamed” of playing Adolf Hitler in his new movie Jojo Rabbit. Holocaust experts have previously criticized the director’s alternative movement on the Nazi leader.

Waititi said, “he feels embarrassed”!!

While talking to Empire, Waititi said: “I was embarrassed. This is the main thing. I was ashamed all the time for looking like this. I go to the set, I say, ‘Look, we all feel it.’ “I felt it was hard not to be grateful. You start wondering why you are doing this: why am I ready this way?”

This follows recent comments in which the director stated that the film was “blackmailed” by the studio to take on the role itself. Waititi explained that Fox Searchlights blackmailed him into doing this. They plan to be part of a movie like this with a great cast or playing this fictional Hitler. But at the end of the day, it all came down to the simple fact that if we had done that, he would have mastered the heart of the story, which is the beautiful story, the relationship between these two children is the story.

In the current interview, Waititi confirmed that he had no real interest in writing an authentic representation of Hitler. He had no interest in trying or investigating because he didn’t think he deserved it.

After a recent screening of Jojo Rabbit at the Tolerance Museum in Los Angeles, Holocaust experts said he had some concerns about Hitler’s representation in the film, respectively.
