The first season of His Dark Materials told Phillip Pullman’s The Golden Compass as planned, but made some significant changes along the way.
Although the main plot points are mostly similar, the Magisterium was a much greater presence, with several small changes – just to make them more appropriate for a TV format. The early appearance of Will Parry (Amir Wilson) and ‘our’ world as one counterpart to Lyra (Dafne Keen) was probably the greatest improvement.
Will did not play a large part this season, but his mother, his relation to Grumman, and Lord Boreal (Ariyon Bakare)’s ability to move between worlds were introduced to the public.
Renewal Status:
A second season for His Dark Materials was announced back in 2018 when the first season already existed. It was a gamble for the series, and the BBC/HBO is making a success of it. It was also decided to keep Dafne Keen from growing up in significant amounts between the filming season 1 and second, creating issues for the timeline.
The positive thing about this is that they were written together in the first and second seasons, or at the very least in the first season.
Release Date:
On November 3, 2019, the primary season was announced. The series had clean responses, and the audience acquired it unequivocally. It was scheduled for a subsequent season before long. The designs began for the season.
Until now, the release date has not been completed. The example is that it is published in November 2024 or mid-2021. The next season will consist of 8 episodes. Perhaps fans need to wait tight for the season much longer.

Plot Details:
The story for Season 2 of His Dark Materials will possibly suit that of The Subtle Knife. At the beginning of the second book, Lyra and Will meet in another dimension, where they discover a dimension without adults and daemons, and where a hidden knife is kept in the Tower of Angels. The book switches between the world of Will and many ones, as the two children learn to trust one another.
Part of this story also happens in Lyra’s universe, as Lee Scoresby (Lin-Manuel Miranda) checks Grumman to see where he is, sent by the witches. Ultimately, if the show follows the novel, the two would be related, beginning with the third volume: an adventure into the Dust world, death, Heaven, Magisterium, and power struggles in all the worlds.
