The US Marshals saved 32 children from trafficking
On Thursday, US Marshals revealed they found 39 missing children in Atlanta and Macon during a two-week action in August called “Operation Not Forgotten.”
9 suspects are booked for the crime
During the operation, 26 children were rescued and another 13 children considered missing and/or threatened with disappearance were found. Nine people were booked on “charges of alleged crimes of human trafficking for physical exploitation, the kidnapping of parents, reported physical offenses, possession of drugs and weapons and interference with detention”, including several outstanding warrants.
Several Georgia law enforcement agencies were involved in the operation, including the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
The rescue operation was in planning for a month
The US Marshals Service said the operation was the result of months of planning and coordination between various agencies, both federal and state, including the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
The officers and the authorities shared the happiness and relief of accomplishing their mission and saving innocent children. They were happy that they are sending the culprits behind the bars
