The Witcher Season 2 Will Start Filming This August

Back in December 2019, Netflix dropped the fantasy action series The Witcher that features Henry Cavill in the main lead. In a short time, the series becomes very popular and created a huge fan base. Even some people compared with the HBO series Game of Thrones. The Netflix series is inspired by the novel series of Andrzej Sapkowski and created by Lauren Schmidt Hissrich.

After the huge success of the first season, Netflix gave the green light to the second season. A new season is on the way, and the fans are very much excited about it. Back in February 2020, the filming for the second season commenced. But later Netflix had to shut the production on The Witcher season 2 due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. The streaming giant earlier suspended filming on projects like The Red Notice, Stranger Things Season 4, The Society Season 2, etc. for ensuring the protection of cast and crew members.

But now, a source revealed that the production will resume from August 2020. So its great news for everyone because if the shooting will not start quickly then there will be more delay in the release of the second season.

Premiere Date Of The Witcher Season 2

Netflix did not reveal a specific date for the second season of the fantasy series. Also, the pause in production can impact the release date of the new season. When the series was renewed for the second season, it was declared that it will release sometime in 2021.

But maybe we can have to wait for more for the new episodes as per sources if any new update appears we will update you.

The second season will be inspired by Sapkowski’s novel Blood of Elves. There are fewer details for the story of the new season as it is kept secret.
