The OA Season 3: Major Updates On Cancellation and Renewal Related To The Show

The OA Season 3:

One of Netflix’s most-watched fiction shows, The OA, has been cancelled for season 3. It is a mystery drama series, produced by Brit Marling and Zal Batmanglis, which first aired on December 16, 2016. It is an of the highest-rated series on Netflix. But sadly, it won’t be back with a confirmed sequel by Marling.

The film’s story revolves around a young woman named Prairie Johnson, played by Brit Marling, who went missing and returned home after a seven-year absence. But there is a mystery. The meadow, which was blind before it disappeared, is no longer blind. Now he calls himself OA and hesitates to reveal something about what happened to him in the past seven years.

Show cancellation updates:

OA first premiered on Netflix in 2016 with eight episodes. He received an overwhelming amount of positive reviews and created a large following. The second season launched on March 22, 2019. It ended in a cliffhanger, indicating that season 3 is coming soon.

But unfortunately, Brit Marling expressed her dissatisfaction that the series would not be renewed. She mentioned in her post that Netflix would not continue with the show. Netflix has not commented on this particular topic.

Has there are possibilities to renew the show?

There may be an opportunity later to renew the series, but it’s off the table right now. A major reason Netflix did not renew the series this year is probably the outbreak of the recent epidemic.

Due to the current state of lockdown and social unrest, even if Netflix renews it, the entire production process will be at stake. It is one of the most popular and favourite shows on Netflix, we hope it will be renewed after a while. Until then, stay safe and stay!
