Boys Season 2 will bring the complex and dark story of superheroes to Amazon.
The Boys took over the streaming world in the summer of 2019, quickly becoming one of Amazon’s most-watched shows thanks to its gritty take on the saturated superhero genre. According to most accounts, it is one of the best Amazon television shows to date.
The television adaptation of Garth Ennis’ comic series for Season 1 was released in July. Filming for The Boys Season 2 took place in Toronto from June 17 to November 13, 2019. We can’t wait to see what awaits Billy Butcher, Hughie Campbell, and the crew as they seek to continue the fight for superheroes at The Homelander and The Seven.
The Boys Season 2 Release Date: When does it come out?
Boyz season 2 has no release date yet, but filming will end in November 2019.
Last August, Kripke told Collider that he would like The Boys season 2 to launch, almost a year after the first season’s release, that he would implement it in early July 2024. However, since filming it’s done, we wouldn’t be surprised to see Boyz season 2 first.
The Boys Season 2 Trailer
The first trailer for The Boys Season 2 was released in December 2019 and is in its entirety. Things start with a very bloody Homelander floating on Earth, before a very sweet photo of The Female shaking brass Knuckles (maybe they are both connected). Then we have an impressive montage of each main character, including an A-train, a still-chased Deep, and what appears to be the Homelander’s son. It’s hard to understand what the main plot points are yet, but the new season just seems bloody, if not the first season.
The Boys Season 2 Cast: Who will be back and who is new?
Based on The Boy’s last leaving, aside from looking at the photos from the set, it seems unlikely that most of the main cast will return for season 2. We’ve already seen Hughie Campbell (Jack Quaid), Frenchi (Tomer Capon), Mother’s Milk (Laz Alonso) and The Female (Karen Fukuhara) in the photos from the set, and once again will be joined by their leader, antihero Billy Butcher (Karl Urban).
As for the curse, Homelander (Antony Starr), Queen Maeve (Dominique McElligott), Starlight (Erin Moriarty), The Deep (Chace Crawford), A-Train (Jessie T. Usher) and Black Noir (Nathan Mitchell) will be back.
In October 2019, Kripke revealed that beloved geek actor Patton Oswalt would be joining the cast in The Boys Season 2, posting a selfie with the actor with an ominous hashtag #SecretRole.
Aya Cash (From You Are The Worst) also joins the cast of The Boys Season 2.
She plays the superhero Stormfront. In the comics, Stormfront is masculine, in the mold of Thor and Shazam. But the new character on the show is a very powerful woman who can go head to head with the Homelander.
