Shazam 2: Director David F. Sandberg Provides A New Update On The Sequel

Director Provides A New Update On The Sequel!!!

In the past few weeks, it has become clear that COVID-19 is not only a threat to the future of new movie releases in theatres but also the shooting schedule of some movies and television shows. Among them is Matt Reeves the Batman, who recently turned down rolling cameras in London to take the necessary precautions to prevent the spread of the virus.

Shazam and Black Adam are the same movies??

This is an honest and unbiased update from the filmmaker behind the 2019 superhero movie. Shazam 2 is currently expected to start filming in early summer and will be ready on April 1, 2024, exactly two years before the date of start.

The first film had a four-month shoot and finished filming a year before its release. Date So far, summer cancellations haven’t taken off too much compared to June, but as of now, it’s hard to know if further delays will be necessary.

Black Adam is late and Shazam 2 stays on time!!!

However, Black Adam is approaching a deadline, as it was expected to hit theatres in December 2024 after summer filming hours. Before the movies split in two, Shazam and Black Adam were actually in the same movie. But David F. According to these words from Sandberg to Comicbook, the plans for the two DC characters don’t seem to be expected to collide:

The good news here is that if Black Adam is late and Shazam 2 stays on time, they won’t both have to change. Fortunately for DCEU, their latest vision has independent features. Marvel may have a hard time changing things after Black Widow’s delay.

Another factor to keep in mind is that Shazam 2 is the age of the children of Billy Batson, Freddie Freeman and the rest of the superfamily. The sequel takes precedence as they age for a minute. Zachary Levi’s younger counterpart is already 17 years old and waiting too long will make the changes between him and Shazam a bit ridiculous, respectively.
