The first season of Sex Education premiered on Netflix on 11 January 2019. Laurie Nunn created the show. The first season of the show was streamed by around 40 million worldwide. The second season of the show premiered on Netflix on 17 January 2024. The streaming giant has announced for the third season of the show. Here’s everything we know about season 3 of the show so far:
Release Date Of Season 3
On 10 February 2024, Netflix announced a renewal of Sex Education for the third season. The filming and production of the show will start later in the year.
Sex Education season 1 was in Netflix’s top 10 most streamed show for 2019, and with loose ends to tie up, it’s no wonder the series got renewed. There is no official announcement about the release date of the third season of the show. But, if it follows the same time of release date as seasons one and two of the show, then we can probably assume the third season to release in January 2024.
Cast Of Season 3
Netflix has not given any official announcement about the cast member of season 3 yet. It is safe to say that the regular cast member of the series, such as Asa Butterfield (Otis), Emma Mackey (Maeve), Gillian Anderson (Jean), and Ncuti Gatwa (Eric), will return in season 3 of the show. About the supporting cast of the show, it is hard to think anyone leaving the show except Anne-Marie Duff, who played dramatically as Maeve’s lonely mother and finished season 2 of the show behind a social service truck.
Expected Plot Of Season 3
It is questionable, of course, where the creative team takes Moordale High students in a possible third season, but based on the loose ends of the final episode of the second season, we have a few ideas. Life in the Milburn house is about to change, deciding by the sudden perimenopausal pregnancy of Jean.
The show has made extraordinarily painful, heartfelt stories of abortion before, and Jean may, therefore, decide to end her late-life pregnancy. In any case, Jean will probably have to tell Otis and Jakob, adding to her already filled relationships with people in her life, new tension.
In a new season of the show, romantic pair might also be in for a shuffle. Season Three possibly will take the effect of Eric’s decision to very openly end his relationship with Amir and to take on Adam, who has declared his bisexuality as well as his love for Eric in a grand appearance in the school’s galactic Romeo & Juliet series.
In the meantime, the third season can also explain the cliffhangers of the final episode of season 2. In a shocking act of dishonesty, Maeve’s lovely neighbor Isaac wedged Maeve and Otis and is likely accountable for this in season 3 of the show. As for Jean and Jakob, when Jakob learns of Jean’s pregnancy, Jakob may be forced to consider his role.
