Robert De Niro was hit with a suit.
Graham Chase Robinson filed a complaint Thursday, suing De Niro and Canal Productions. Robinson, who most recently served as the organization’s vice president of Generation and Finance before April, was on the receiving end of a lawsuit from her former employer in August.
She intends to acquire”in excess of $12 million, including back pay, front pay, compensatory damages, liquidated damages, and punitive damages,” in accordance with the legal records seen by USA TODAY.
Robinson and De Niro entered into a working relationship on Feb. 4, 2008, when she became his executive assistant, the complaint states. At the moment, she had been 25 and”expected to construct a career in the entertainment market.” The record says”she had been forced to resign on April 6, 2019″ after”decades of sex harassment and discrimination.”
The criticism paints De Niro in an unflattering light, alleging Robinson was in the conclusion of”unnecessary unwanted physical contact,””sexually-charged remarks” and verbal abuse. “He assaulted her in sex terms, calling her a ‘(b-word)’ along with also a’brat.’ ”
De Niro’s lawyer, Tom Harvey, told USA TODAY in a statement:”The allegations made by Graham Chase Robinson contrary to Robert De Niro are beyond foolish.” He shared with a copy of a complaint made by De Niro and Canal Productions in August, against Chase that asks for over $6 million in financial damages.
The August lawsuit against Chase stated she billed tens of thousands of dollars of private expenses on the business credit card, filed false info to be compensated for holiday days she employed, converted countless Canal’s frequent flier miles to get her private use and binge-watched Netflix reveals throughout labour.
Robinson’s criticism against De Niro paints a different picture, stating that”De Niro would unleash tirades against Ms. Robinson — frequently while he was drunk — where he denigrated, beaten, bullied, and hurled expletives at her.” The criticism,”De Niro created vulgar, improper, and gendered remarks to Ms. Robinson. He’d joke with Ms. Robinson about his Viagra prescription”
What’s more, Robinson’s criticism says De Niro”urinated during phone calls with her met with her sporting his mother or a bathrobe… and led her to meet with him empty apartments and hotel suites”
Robinson supposedly was requested by the celebrity to”scrape his back, button his tops, mend his collars, tie his ties, and prod him alert when he had been in bed.”
On account of the functioning conditions Robinson undergone, she’s supposedly suffered”substantial psychological distress, such as feelings of depression, anxiety, panic, and embarrassment, in addition to other physiological and mental manifestations of psychological distress, such as insomnia and weight loss.
“She finally stopped because she could no longer suffer the hostile work environment,” the complaint states,”and during her counselor she cautioned De Niro and Canal Productions she had been contemplating bringing a discrimination suit.”
Her criticism covers and simplifies allegations. “To be clear, Ms. Robinson didn’t”loaf’ or’bingewatch’ throughout work, failed to make unauthorized use of Canal’s credit card for personal expenses, didn’t make unauthorized use of Canal’s petty cash account for personal things, didn’t take part in civic conversion of frequent flyer miles, and didn’t distribute false information regarding her newfound vacation allotment.”
A lawyer for Robinson reiterated De Niro’s alleged improper behavior in a statement issued to USA TODAY Thursday.
“De Niro produced requirements of Ms. Robinson he never enforced on men,” Alexandra Harwin, counselor to Robinson, said in a statement. “De Niro’s treatment of Ms. Robinson was improper, demeaning, violent, and excruciating, and he wants to be held liable.”
