National Treasure 3: Cancelled? Are There Any Plans?

National Treasure 3 apparently works at Disney,

This will be the franchise’s first new movie since the “Book of Secrets” in 2007. This information comes in a THR report on how Bad Boy 4 is being developed by writer Chris Bremner, who is also set to write National Treasure 3.

Not much has been said, but the report mentions that

“Bremer’s show is heating up because he’s also writing National Treasure 3 for Disney, among other projects.” Additionally, it states that National Treasure 3 is being produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, who also produced the first two films.

Nothing about Nicholas Cage’s return to the star is mentioned as treasure hunter Benjamin Franklin Gates, but fans clearly expect his favorite actor (without Cage) to return.
