Netflix has acquired the rights to make a live-action adaptation of the popular 90’s Japenese animated series Cowboy Bepop. The original series ran from Septemeber 1997 to June 1998. It was a very popular show amongst the viewers. In November 2018, Netflix had announced the revival of the show with a 10 episodes season 1.

Release Date
Ever since Netflix’s announcement on the revival of the show, viewers have been eagerly waiting for the show to come. But Netflix is yet to announce a release date for the show. The show had a tumultuous start. The production of the show came to a sudden halt in October 2019 when the lead actor of the show suffered a knee injury while shooting. Corona Virus has further delayed the production of the show.
The Cast
Actors John Cho, Mustafa Shakir, Daniella Pineda, and Alex Hassell are the lead actors of the show.
Storyline
The show is set in the future in 2071. It has been 50 years since Planet Earth became inhabitable after it met with a bad accident. The future generations have captured the plants leaving gaseous ones and moon. A group of Policemen called The Cowboys are on the hunt for criminals. The story of Cowboy Bepop revolves around these policemen, how they chase the criminals all around the solar system and get justice for the innocent civilians.
The Team
The team behind the show has both new members and members from the original show. Jeff Pinkner is the writer and the executive producer of the show. The original director of the show Shinichirō Watanabe will be a consultant on the show. Sunrise Inc., the original production company is an executive producer. Netflix and Tomorrow Studios are co-producing the series.
Netflix is already planning season 2 of the show.
