Connie Nielsen, stars as Hippolyta in the Wonder Woman and Justice League DC Extended Universe movies, wants to expand the role of a spin-off series focused on Amazon warriors. The release of Wonder Woman 1984, the upcoming film, was recently delayed by the coronavirus pandemic until 14 august. Still, the Danish actress is ready to crack the isolation the Amazons fought for from the outside.
Wonder Woman 1984
Wonder Woman 1984 will unite viewers with many of the original movie’s stars, including Hippolyta. As the mother of Diana and monarch of Themyscira, she played and will possibly continue to play a significant role in Diana’s life.
Chris Pine returns as Steve Trevor, even though he dies in the first movie. Currently joining the cast are two new actors, Maxwell Lord and Barbara Ann Minerva / Cheetah, Pedro Pascal, and Kristen Wiig. In particular, Pascal’s character is expected to play a role in the resurrection of Steve.
Connie Nielsen Wants A Wonder Woman -Off
Nielsen mentioned a possible spin-off film starring the Amazons in a recent interview. Although she didn’t go into any details, Nielsen told Coming Soon that she and the cast would love to do it.
By the end of 2019, director Patty Jenkins told Wonder Woman 1984 fans of the São Paulo, Brazil, She and Warner Bros., and they considered a spin-off based on the Amazons of Wonder Woman and her iconic world of Themyscira. Instead, Jenkins worked on the spin-off and said that she had “everything figured out.”
Will There Be A Wonder Woman Spin-Off?
Although Queen Hippolyta may have created Themyscira Princess Diana out of clay and still ready for war, Jenkins needs to take a breath after the release of Wonder Woman 1984. This could mean a while away from the franchise. It’s still unclear whether an Amazon spin-off arrives before or after Wonder Woman 3.
The story may rely on the continuation of the trilogy or stand-alone. The end of Wonder Woman 1984 is inevitable when viewers will see it.
Why Is A Spin-Off Required?
The world of Amazon offers almost infinite opportunities. The 2016 Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was introduced by Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman, and Diana Prince had a complete history to fill in. However, the Paradise Island warrior women will feed prequels back to the ancient Greeks and the Olympian gods.
Hippolyta found himself in personal combat, sculpted and brought to life by Aphrodite over three thousand years ago. This makes Wonder Woman’s Amazons fertile inspiration and spin-off land.
