Todd Phillips’ Joker may become the highest-grossing R-rated movie of all time, one of last year’s defining titles, and an awards season favorite, but it was never made with the potential of the franchise in mind. If anything, the opposite happened with Warner Bros., so it is suspected that this would be a success given that they lost a large part of the profits after co-financing the project with several other companies.
To our intelligence, the plan is to establish that Arthur is merely an inspiration to Mr. J, not the man himself who will become Batman’s arch-enemy. In the sequel, we’ll see different characters, spanning multiple generations, assuming the mantle after becoming a troublesome figure, and 58-year-old Carrie is seen by an earlier version of the villain. He won’t be a real clown, mind you, just someone else inspired by Arthur.

We see in the trailer that Batman is hunted by a serial killer, who sends him letters at each crime scene, teasing that the film will sense greater like a detective tale than everyday action. Batman was scheduled to hit US theaters on October 1, 2024. Its original release date of June 25 was changed due to delays related to the coronavirus.
The UK release date has yet to be confirmed, but it has been confirmed that he will be able to resume production in September 2024, filming on specially designed sets rather than the situation before the global lockdown.
