A source proves ComicBook.com’s initial report that Owen Wilson has been appointed in Loki. Sadly, they do not have any information about his character.
Owen Wilson Would Appear Opposite Tom Hiddleston
The makers of Marvel Studios’ forthcoming Disney+ streaming show Loki has seemingly appointed Owen Wilson (The Royal Tenenbaums, Wedding Crashers) to feature in the series opposite veteran Marvel Cinematic Universe actor Tom Hiddleston, according to ComicBook.com. Make your best Owen Wilson impact and read on to get more.
We are still waiting on approval of this part of the casting, and while ComicBook.com is not one of those disreputable sites that implore stories out of the thin atmosphere, it’s still apparently best to overtake this one with a bit of doubt.
According to the source, Wilson will be performing a significant character in the latest series, though the specifics of his role are being kept under wraps.
It’s difficult even to imagine who he might be performing – the show is going to be about Loki, who fled from captivity throughout the 2012 timeline in Avengers: Endgame, time-hopping all over the world, so the likelihoods are unlimited.
Expectations on the appearance of Wilson
According to the sites, Wilson’s appearance could likely point toward a comedic tone for the series. It seems like a big leap to make based on an individual piece of casting, but at the same time, we wonder Marvel would appoint Wilson and not take full advantage of his comedic skills.
That’d be like picking Jeff Goldblum only not to let him do his entire Goldblum schtick. Wilson has arrived in some serious movies over the time of his career (Behind Enemy Lines, No Escape), but he’s initially recognized for his work in parody and comedy-adjacent projects, so it is safe to say that he will bring some giddiness to the proceedings. Whether or not the whole series feels like a parody remains to be viewed.
The Loki features Hiddleston and is rumored to feature Flower star Sophia Di Martino too, which will ostensibly span six hours.
The director of Sex Education, Kate Herron, will helm the series, which is composed and managed by Rick and Morty‘s Michael Waldron.
The plot probably highlights the eponymous fraud as “an incredible influencer on historical events,” and it will possibly join in the episodes of Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness.
Earlier, Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige has stated that the multiverse is the following step in the development of the MCU, so this show could have a notable impact on how we see that play out over the following some years.
