The second season will be exploring more into the characters and their backstory, the makers are planning to delve deeper into the Geralt of Rivia’s roots. The showrunner has further explained the importance of knowing his roots and here’s why!

Fans Will Know More About Geralt’s Roots In Season 2!

Moreover, showrunner Lauren A. Hissrich has explained that the fact that the show mostly focuses on Geralt, Ciri, and Yennefer bonding together as a family, it is important for the fans to know about their backstory and their roots further. As for Geralt, it’s his brothers and the sacred tie of the brotherhood of the witchers that’s important in the series.  This bond will be well looked into along with the White Wolf’s family values as well.

The second season is going to be more about Geralt’s father figure Vesemir, and all the other men under whom he grew up since he was seven years old. It was confirmed before production was withheld that Eskel, Lambert, Coën, and Vesemir will be appearing from the second season. Actors Thue Ersted Rasmussen, Paul Bullion, along with Yasen Atour and Kim Bodnia has been roped in for the role as well.

Many New Characters Will Be Included Further In Season 2!

With these characters making an appearance, more will be discovered about Geralt’s story which fans need to understand for a better character arc. There have been reports of another witcher getting added in the upcoming second season. The showrunner revealed a picture quite a few months ago when production was going on before the lockdown. It seems like while production has been withheld this might delay the release date a bit further than expected.
