Johanna Lindsey, a prolific and influential romance writer, passed away. She was 67 years old. According to the sources, the author died of complications from stage 4 lung cancer treatment on October 27, but her family was already devastated by announcing the news.

Lindsey wrote about 60 romantic novels, beginning with the captive bride in 1977. According to publisher Simon & Schuster, her stories sold more than 60 million copies worldwide, and almost all of his books reached bestseller status. Many of Lindsey’s novels top the New York Times bestseller list.

Lindsey helped establish the genre and publish it. Lindsey is one of the most successful and influential romance writers of her time, with authors such as Jud Devereaux, Judith McNaught, Kathleen Woodiwiss, and Rosemary Rogers. Her books also played a crucial role in establishing the career of the Fabio cover model, as it appeared on several covers of Lindsey during the 80s and 90s, especially in Gentle Rogue.
