Rumor Alert! Brad Pitt Being Eyed To Portray Marvel’s Version Of ‘Superman’

In 2018’s Deadpool 2, Brad Pitt dropped by for a surprise, playing invisible mutant vanisher for a split second in a whimsical blink-and-you’ll-miss look. Although only a very fun short role, fans were wondering whether the star would ever be able to join the Marvel universe in a bigger capacity. As per the reports, Marvel Studios is trying to find the right role for the winning Oscar actor. We do know that one alternative is being considered.

Brad Pitt Might Be Hyperion

Sources suggest that the same person who told previously that Taskmaster would be Black Widow’s main villain and the She-Hulk show–say that Marvel watches Brad Pitt for Hyperion. As per the reports a few months ago, the news that the star was being looked up to a sizeable villainous segment–probably Kang or Galactus. But Kevin Feige and his colleagues now seem to have agreed to have Pitt on board as a hero. Then again, if the villain’s job they want is just a voice, then he might even be able to pull out double duties like Josh Brolin (playing Thanos and Cable).

Who Is Hyperion?

For those unfamiliar, Hyperion is DC’s Superman’s intentional pastiche. Over the decades, he has been from several different backgrounds, but he is generally an Eternal, so why Marvel is trying to add him to the MCU after the Eternals? Hyperion is leading the Supreme Squadron, which also resembles members of DC in the Justice League.

All this follows on from April reports that Marvel developed a Hyperion film. We learned then that the project was still in the process, so it was not clear whether the whole squadron would end up as a solo film for the hero. Nonetheless, it would be pretty ironic if Marvel manages to do that before DC releases another Superman or Justice League image.

It would be a massive thing for the fans to see the Oscar-winning actor being a part of Marvel as the character of Hyperion didn’t come up on the screen so far. There would be a lot of work to do by Marvel.
