Netflix’s Queen Sono Season 1: Ending Explained!

The first season of Queen Sono premiered on Netflix on 28 February 2024. Kagiso Lediga created the show. The show is Netflix’s first African original series. The show stars Pearl Thusi, Vuyo Dabula, Chi Mhende, Sechaba Morojele, Loyiso Madinga, and others.

The first season of Queen Sono left the viewers with a lot of questions, and a pool of dilemmas as the series was quite complicated. Summary Of Season 1

Queen Sono is the child of a rebel who fought for the country, Safiya Sono. Safiya Sono had been assassinated, and the accused killer of Safiya Sono has been in prison for the past 25 years. But soon, he is about to be freed on parole, which refreshes Queen’s scars. While Queen Sono is a spy for the secret service of South Africa, Special Operations Group (SOG). The secret service is trying to take down corrupt politicians, terrorist groups, and the external forces who fund them.

Ending Explained

Special Operations Group learns that more attacks have been designed after the attack on Park Station. Through careful investigation, they learn that the next target is going to be the stadium. This is a portion of Superior Solutions’ strategy to push the President towards claiming a state of emergency in the country. With the President of South Africa in her pocket, Watu Wema Brigade by her team, and the state of emergency in the nation, Ekaterina would have a unique hold over South Africa. She would definitely become the puppeteer utilizing the country to her own desire, while also extending her influence on other African countries.

Frightened by the threat, the President of South Africa tries to push for the state of emergency, but with the support of other leaders, Sidwell manages to put a hold on his ideas. However, the immediate danger on the stadium places them in a dangerous position. If they inform everyone about the attack, the President of South Africa would have another ground to declare an emergency. And if they do not, it would be treason. And if they try to stop the attack without letting anyone in on it and they lose, then there would be no holding Ekaterina’s ideas.

Despite all the difficulties, Queen Sono and her team succeed in avoiding the attack, but in the meantime, her grandmother is murdered by Ekaterina. Queen Sono is also separated from William, who has had plenty of her not being there for him. Nana discovers the videos of Queen visiting Strydom in prison, the day before he was assumed to be released and was murdered. She discusses Queen Sono with her father, who had been absent throughout the first season.
