Ryan Murphy, the prolific producer who has given Netflix many biggest hits, is back with a new series for Netflix. Netflix brought the rights of the classic series Ratched and Ryan Murphy is working on the revival of the show.
The Ratched story will trace the origins of Nurse Ratched. It will take the viewers back before Nurse Ratched turned to a monster by exploiting people in the mental health care system. Nurse Ratched is a character from the classic novel One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest which released in 1962. A movie also came in 1975.
Fox 21 Television Studios is backing the project. Even Romansky is the writer of the show. Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan are also part of the team. Nelson Cragg, Jennifer Lynch, and Ryan Murphy are the directors of series.
Nurse Mildred Ratched’s character will be portrayed by Sarah Paulson. Paulson and Murphy are reuniting for the project after American Horror Story. Jon Jon Briones, Finn Wittrock, Charlie Carver, Judy Davis, and Harriet Harris are also part of the cast.
The filming of the series began in late January or early February 2019. The series is being shot in California. the filming has been done in parts in Cannery Row, Monterey, Point Mogu, and Lucia Lodge in Big Sur. The filming of the series was finished in July 2019.
The series came with a second season order. Ryan Murphy has hinted that Ratched could have four seasons.
It is anticipated that Ratched will be launched on Netflix in September 2023. The show can be launched earlier also as Netflix is short on content.
