Netflix’s original Gentefied is a parody-drama series based on the online digital-short of the same name. Marvin Lemus and Linda Yvette Chávez co-created, and Ugly Better star America Ferrera produced or directed the series.
After an excellent season 1, fans will be expecting to see a second season. Netflix has yet to renew the show, but here we will discuss the possibility of seeing Gentefied being renewed, as well as release date and cast.
Gentefied Season 2: Renewal Status
During writing, Gentefied has been open for less than a week, so, unsurprisingly, Netflix has yet to decide on the future of the show. Traditionally, Netflix can take anywhere between a month to almost half a year before determining the future of the series. We can anticipate hearing news of renewal shortly.
Gentefied season 2: Release Date
The release date for Gentefied season 2 totally depends on when the series is revived. So we can expect to see the show drop until 2021. Shooting for the first season started in April 2019 and was delivered by February 2020.
As long as the second season starts shooting within the following some months, we could anticipate seeing season 2 land sometime between February and April 2021.
Gentefied Season 2: Cast
It is expected to see the return of almost all the main cast members. Karrie Martin as the delightfully queer professional, Ana Morales. Accompanying Karrie is Joseph Julian Soria as Ana’s goofy cousin Erik should come back. Carlos Santos as the chef cousin, Christian, while Joaquín Cosio is the head of their family, Grandpa Pop will most surely also return.
More cast members likely to see again are Julissa Calderon as Ana’s partner Yessika Flores, Annie Gonzalez as Erik’s partner Lidia Solis, Rafael Sigler as Pancho Solis, Laura Patalano as Beatriz, Bianca Melgar as Nayeli Morales, Felipe Esparza as Crazy Dave, amid others. The second season of the series might also see some new faces.
