It is a sad day indeed as we have lost one of our good actors, Mary Pat Gleason has passed away at the age of 70. It is indeed a high loss for the acting fraternity. She has appeared in several popular sitcoms and now we will miss seeing her on-screen.

Her manager Todd Justice announced the sad news and further added that she was battling cancer. Mary Pat was earlier on remission, added by her manager. Justice remembered her as a special lady and she was one of their close friends.

The star got her big break when she bagged the role of Jane Hogan in The Guiding Light back in 1983 which made her famous. She played that role for two years after that even became an established scriptwriter as well. She received the prestigious 1986 Daytime Emmy Award for her excellence in scriptwriting.
She was also a part of the popular comedy CBS sitcom, Mom, and was remembered by her co-star Allison Janney. Janney remembered Gleason as one of their favorite guest’s stars on the show.
