Derry Girls has been able to gather alot of good reviews and ratings and looking at all those Channel 4 renewed the show, production of season 3 was supposed to begin in June 2024, however, things have taken a rather different course.

Nicola Coughlan also spoke up about the upcoming season 3 of Derry Girls on a podcast where he revealed that they were supposed, to begin with, production around this time but it will face a delay due to the pandemic outbreak.
