The suspect fired towards the car which leads to the death of a girl
Turner’s mother was reportedly trying to turn into a parking lot when a group of gunmen blocked the entrance. Suspects shot a car, fatally injuring a girl who was declared dead in a nearby hospital.
Protests continued for several weeks at the scene of the police shootings, but the protest organizers insisted that the gunmen who killed the girl were not part of their group.
Charges for the crime
Atlanta police officer Garrett Rolfe was charged with 11 charges, including murder for the crime after he shot brooks dead in the back while Brooks was trying to escape. The police were called to a fast-food restaurant on the night of June 12 after Brooks, who is black, fell asleep in his car. During the clash with the officers, he took the taser and fled before being hit. As previously reported, Rolfe is accused of being shot by Brooks when he lay down on the ground after shooting.
